KEFALONIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I’m Dionysis Petratos, a wedding photographer based in Kefalonia, the island where my family has been photographing people for four generations.
Today, that legacy meets a style more interested in what is actually happening than in carefully posed perfection. The wind catching a veil, the changing light and the moments nobody expected are often the ones that say the most.
My work is rooted in the reality of the day: the movement, the light, the exchanges between guests and the details happening quietly around the main events. Most of the day is photographed exactly as it unfolds, with gentle guidance whenever you need it. You can stay close to your people, enjoy the celebration and trust that I’m noticing everything around you.
As a local wedding photographer in Kefalonia, I understand the island beyond its landscapes: the shifting evening light, the quieter locations, the changing atmosphere throughout the day and the feeling couples come here for in the first place. Some move loudly and spill deep into the night. Others are quieter, with emotion living in the smaller gestures and unnoticed moments.
My approach is documentary at heart, present without constantly directing what is happening. I move with the day as it evolves, giving people space to forget the camera and fully sink into the experience.
There is very little staging and no fixed formula. When guidance is needed, I keep it simple and natural.
I pay as much attention to what happens between the main events as to the events themselves. A reaction across the room, a conversation at the edge of the reception, the light changing during dinner or a moment you did not even notice at the time.
People look most like themselves once they stop thinking about the camera.
The result is imagery that feels honest, cinematic and deeply connected to the atmosphere of the day. Not only how everything looked, but how it all felt to be there.
